For the month of September 2023, Sassa grants disbursement have been faced with major glitches or technical challenges as described by the South African Post Bank. A magnitude of social grant
s recipients have experienced challenges when trying to collect their monthly payment at ATMs or retailers. The South African Post Bank has issued apologies for those who have been affected by the challenges relating to withdrawal of their funds for September.

Where To Collect Sassa Grants in October
The collection methods for social grants have not changed. These includes collecting money from the ATMs, the retailers till end, Post Office and directly from the bank.
When are the Sassa payment dates for October 2023
The social grants payments for the month of October 2023 have been scheduled as follows
Older Person Grant – 03 October
Disability Grant – 04 October
Children’s Grant – 05 October

N.B: The Postbank Statement on urging Sassa Beneficiaries to collect monies at ATMs and Retailers for October 2023: SASSA social grants beneficiaries in the KwaZulu-Natal province who are due to be paid their social grants starting from Tuesday, 3 October 2023, are urged to collect their SASSA social grants money at ATM’s and retailers that include Boxer, Pick n Pay, Spar, Shoprite and U save instead of South African Post Office branches. This is due to many Post Office branches in KwaZulu-Natal having reported that they anticipate to have insufficient cash in store as a result of cash delivery delays.

Can I Withdraw my Grant with Expired Sassa Gold Card?
Yes, you can withdraw your funds using the current expired Sassa card until the end of December 2023. The expired Sassa cards validity have been extended until 31 December 2023. But it is advisable that you renew your card before the extended period ends.
