SASSA January Payment. Grants from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) have been the only source of income keeping some South Africans afloat during and out of the pandemic. Payments for these necessary grants are expected to start again in January 2022.
Month after month, Sassa beneficiaries line up at Post Offices and Supermarkets to receive their much-needed social benefits. These donations became even more needed over the two years between early 2020 and late 2021 due to the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic and its effect on the South African economy.
One of the grants that became sorely needed was the R350 Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, which was installed at the beginning of the pandemic and has remained since.
Sassa released an official statement on social media that revealed the January payout dates for these extremely essential donations. SASSA January Payment dates are as follows:
Grants for Seniors
They will be paid from January 4, 2022. This payment includes grants tied to these accounts.
Disability grants
They will be paid from January 5, 2022. This payment includes subsidies tied to these accounts.
All remaining grants
They will be paid from January 6, 2022.
